Horseshoe Theater

The Horseshoe Theater in North Hollywood is one of Los Angeles’ most historic landmarks. It was built in 1926 by silent movie star Tom Mix but abandoned in the 60s.

It opened back up again in 2015, after being restored to its original grandeur, and is now operated by the City of Los Angeles as a venue for live events.

The Horseshoe Theater is probably best known for being the place where Jim Morrison met up with his girlfriend Pamela Courson before leaving on a trip to Paris. The two were seen drinking and kissing inside the venue, by an acquaintance of Morrison’s who was apparently close enough to tell police about their activities.

As you can see from the pictures, the theater has a very unique and moody atmosphere. It’s perfect for a range of different types of events, including concerts, comedy shows, film screenings, and so on.

If you’re looking for a great place to catch some live entertainment in Los Angeles, be sure to add The Horseshoe Theater in North Hollywood to your list of options.
